Meet Star Gazers is an application that is entirely dedicated to astronomy. We have an ambitious roadmap that is inspired by your feedback. In the coming months, we have taken up the challenge to accomplish this roadmap. All of the features in this roadmap will be dedicated to astronomy and will be coherent with our initial ambition that was at the origin of the project : make astronomy accessible to everyone. You will realize that during the creation of all the features, we have tried our best to simplify these features in order to make them understandable to beginners and fall in love with astronomy. We also try our best to cover a maximum number of disciplines within astronomy in the conception of Meet Star Gazers and Dark Sky Map.
You can find other passionate stargazers in your region with the help of this application. Meet Star Gazers has the ambition to unite stargazers all over the world. It will help you to organize stargazing events frequently and observe the night sky more often. Our objective is to give birth to a mutually helpful and constructive community. This application will also help astronomy clubs, associations and observatories to forge a stronger bond with their members and increase their outreach efforts through a solution that they can use out of the box. Being a mobile application, Meet Star Gazers can be used everywhere you go. Those users who live in sparsely populated regions, will find Meet Star Gazers to be a complementary tool to find others passionate about astronomy in their region and organize star parties together.
At the heart of Meet Star Gazers is an interactive map of stargazing events planned all over the world. With a simple click, you have access to information about the exact location of the stargazing event, launch an itenerary with Waze and Google Maps, cloud cover and seeing information in real time and calculate an isochrone. You can also launch a stargazing event or star party at a location of your choice.
We realized that the organization of a stargazing event consumed too much of time and we could build a tool to simplify and speed up this process. Currently astronomers use numerous tools like social networks, websites, mobile applications, emails, messaging applications and sms to organize a star party. Meet Star Gazers lets you accomplish this task in a single mobile application dedicated to astronomy. Our ambition is that Meet Star Gazers will help you save around 30 minutes on average to organize a stargazing session.
We realized that amateur astronomers currently use paper and pencil to note their astronomy observation logs. This is not practical when you are observing in the field in cold, humid and windy weather. Sharing observation logs with your friends is also currently complicated. Meet Star Gazers simplifies this process by integrating a module to note observation logs for all participants of each stargazing session. As a consequence, your observation logs will be be saved sustainably.
Meet Star Gazers comes with a real time messenger built into the application. Each stargazing session will have a specific real time messaging channel that makes it extremely easy to organize and discuss with the other participants about the upcoming star parties.
We supply you the most reliable information about weather conditions relevant to astronomy. With this ambition in mind, we have established a partnership with Meteoblue, a global benchmark in terms of quality of weather information. Meet Star Gazers is hence in a position to provide current and forecasted weather conditions for each observation session. This includes seeing which is the apparent blurring and twinkling of astronomical objects and is caused by turbulent mixing in the atmosphere of the earth. Cloud cover in a cartographic and visual format is also provided by Meet Star Gazers.
The moon has a significant impact on astronomical observations. A knowledge of lunar ephemerides is essential for astronomical observations as well as astrophotography of the Moon and deep sky objects. Meet Star Gazers provides you this information directly in the application to help you save time. This information too comes from Meteoblue.
